3 Great Tips for Throwing a Successful Cocktail Party

Mar 7, 2017

Organizing and throwing a cocktail party can be extremely stressful and overwhelming if you aren’t careful. If you prepare well ahead of time, however, and have a detailed plan of exactly what you need to accomplish beforehand, you should be fine and the night should be a lot of fun. Here are a few tips that can help you throw a successful cocktail party.

Select a Day and Stick to It

Once you decide on a date for your cocktail party, you have to stick to it. Just because one or two people can’t make it doesn’t mean you can change the date. If you change the date just because someone that you really wanted to be there can’t make it, that is unfair to the rest of your guests who already confirmed and scheduled that day around your event. Figure out a day (preferably a weekend) that works for the majority of your guests, and then stick to that day no matter what.

Limit the Number of People You Invite

Just because you’re a nice person and have plenty of friends doesn’t mean you should invite them all to your party. No one expects you to make everyone you know happy, so you might have to make some sacrifices and not invite everyone. If you have unlimited supplies and a big enough area, however, go crazy and invite the whole world, but realistically you’ll probably have to make some cuts. It’s nothing personal, and maybe you can invite them to the next one, but don’t overdo it with the number of people you invite to your party.

Party Rentals

Rather than supplying everything for your party, which can get pretty pricey, consider taking advantage of party rentals. By renting a tent, and acquiring rental chairs and various tent accessories, you’ll have plenty of the necessary items for a successful party. Consider renting cocktail glasses as well and plan on roughly two to three glasses a person for your party.

If you want to have a successful cocktail party, be sure to stick to the day you chose, avoid inviting too many people, and take advantage of party event rentals. Talk to Allied Party Rentals today to learn more!
