Planning a Party Checklist

  • Party Tent Rentals
If you plan on having your party outdoors, a party tent is an absolute must. This way, unpredictable weather won’t affect your ultimate plan.
  • Food
Whether you decide on chicken nuggets and pizza or a split pea risotto on the side of surf ‘n turf filet and lobster, your guests need to eat.
  • Drinks
Again, kool-aid or Kahlua, your guests need to stay hydrated. Make sure water and soda are available to accommodate all kinds of guests.
  • Plates, Silverware, Napkins
The dinnerware at your party should ideally match the decorations. Remember, for 15 guests, 200 napkins should suffice.
  • Decorations
To ensure everything matches and creates a thematic ambiance, rent linens, table runners, streamers, and any other decorations from one place.
  • Music
Know your audience and plan appropriately. If you are hosting a younger group, consider hiring a DJ. If you are catering to a more classical crowd, consider reaching out to a local string or jazz band. And if plans fall through, have a set of speakers as a backup.
  • Seating
One of the trickiest things to get right is finding a comfortable place to sit for everyone invited to your event. Count the guests, but have extra chairs ready.
  • Entertainment
The entertainment could be the band, the open bar, a boggle tournament, or the event itself. Make sure to have something captivating available. Mini golf, frisbees, a football, or even a pinata work well to keep your guests entertained.

There are certainly other things that you mustn’t forget for your outdoor event, but the above checklist is a great starting point for any event.
